The Conference
A meeting of the international metals conservation community was held at Cardiff University in the heart of the Welsh capital city with hybrid access for online delegates.
Metal 2025 was an event organised and hosted by Cardiff University and not affiliated with ICOM-CC but which built on the traditions established during 30 years of ICOM-CC Metals Working Group Interim Meetings. Published preprints are now available digitally and as a print on demand paperback volume.

The conference took place over five full days from the 1st - 5th September 2025, with a packed programme of papers, site visits and evening events. Pre-conference courses were held on the 31st August and were led by specialists in the field.
